The Prism of Life by Ansh Das: Book Review

The Prism of Life is a self-help book intended to address many of man’s eternal quests. The author claims to have channeled these messages directly from the Akashic Records.

Tap a little of your school Physics.
Remember what happens when white light passes through a prism?
Yes, it disperses into a spectrum of colours. When all these colours, merge together, they form white light again.
The author has introduced a brilliant metaphor with these terms:

Prism = Life
White Light = Spirituality
Constituent Colours = Constituents that make up spirituality

In short, this book throws light on the smaller constituents of spirituality that can help one to decipher his/her purpose of life.

The Purpose of Life

According to the book, every one of us is born with a purpose. Most of us undergo a midlife crisis, that is, around midlife we will be able to realize whether or not our lives are in alignment with our purposes. And in case if it’s not, it must be taken as a signal to turn towards our purpose instead of getting stressed about it. And it is here that spirituality helps in giving a new awakening.

 What are the Constituents?

The main part of the book is the constituents of spirituality. 39 of such concepts are discussed briefly, mostly within one page. A few of them in random are:

Purpose, Nature, Sorrow, Ego, Compassion, Anger, Forgiveness, Relationships, Letting Go, Patience and Intimacy.

Excerpts from the Book:

Changing Lives (Page 23)

Time has no beginning, no end; it goes on forever. Then why must we hang on to a slice of it and let it hurt us so much? Let it go, for whatever goes now, shall come again. You have died before and you will live again.

Moving Forward (Page 27)

Just like the water, we are one with the universe. We must form clouds, rise to new levels, and transform into rain, which gives life to others. We must keep moving forward at all times.

Moments (Page 44)

A young bird must learn to fly before it can cross the ocean.

Author Ansh Das began working on the Akashic Records in 2011. The wisdom he gained from this sphere helped him to overcome a depressing phase of his life of losing a loved one. He says that he emerged into a stronger, happier and more confident person after the recovery. What he has penned down in this book is by the direct guidance from the Akashic Records.

What are Akashic Records?

The author states it as, ‘the individual records of a soul from the time it leaves its point of origin until the end of time.’

Imagine yourself as a soul just before you are ready to incarnate on Earth. With the help of your spirit guides, the lifetime that are you are about to experience is planned at this moment, say you watch kind of a preview. An energy field in which the thoughts, words, emotions and actions that generate out of the preview is created. And this becomes your Akashic Record for this lifetime.

How many records are stored in it then?

One for each lifetime of every soul. Yes, that many!

Why is it Important for this Book?

For one, these records have significant influence upon our everyday lives. And two, this book is the result of the author’s access to the Akashic Records.

The Prism of Life is an insightful, self-discovery subject. However, how a reader will perceive the insights depends on the depth of his/her state of acceptance and experiences. Readers going through a particular short-coming will find that particular component helpful. For instance, a person who is facing difficulty in letting go a relationship can easily relate to the insights mentioned in a few topics like letting go, forgiveness, relationships etc. Thus, the book offers understanding about a wide spectrum of our personal lives, catered to the needs of different phases of life.

Note: If the concept of the Akashic Records feels abstract to you, it is absolutely understandable. The author has mentioned it only to confirm the source of his messages. However, a reader can still carry on with the book even without the grasp of it.

A thoughtful book for the benefit of human community; I wish vivid conceptualization of the constituents in the form of real-life experiences in the author’s coming books.
